Span was created for ArtPrize 2025 as a site-specific installation at Pekich Park in downtown Grand Rapids. The work draws on the six columns at the entrances to the park and the mural Grand Rapids Furniture City by Richard Haas. Building on this lineage, from architecture to painting to sculpture, Egnater abstracts and elongates the columns’ profiles, creating a gesture toward the evolution of the city.
